Many of us attended the 4th Scientific International Congress on SMA (SMA Europe) from March 14th to 16th in Ghent. It was a valuable opportunity to engage in discussions with patients and fellow researchers. We made many contributions to this conference in form of talks and posters.
Talk:
Tobias Schüning: The Spinal Muscular Atrophy gene product regulates actin dynamics
Poster-Flash:
Ines Tapken: Network biology-based analysis of SMA: Identification of disease relevant protein targets and altered signaling in severe and mild SMA mice
Poster:
Nora Detering & Ines Bünermann: Alterations along the neuroendocrine axis of leptin homeostasis: fat tissue and hypothalamus in a severe SMA mouse model
Daniela Kuhn: Bone-intrinsic dysregulations of the mandible are associated with altered collagen synthesis in a severely affected SMA mouse model
Amy Glynn: Peripheral organs defects in spinal muscular atrophy: Actin dysregulation
Katharina Strienke & Peter Franz (MHH): The SMN protein interacts with actin and is involved in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton dynamics
